Dear Women Former Students and Friends:

For almost 45 years, women have excelled as students of Texas A&M University.  Now comprising almost half the student body, just under one-third of faculty, and two-thirds of staff, women are increasingly making their mark on the history of this institution.  In recognition of the exceptional contribution we as women have made to Texas A&M and with an eye toward facilitating an even greater tie to the university, in the summer of 2007 a group of women former students began a dialogue.  On December 21, 2007 those conversations were transformed from an idea to creation of the Women Former Students Network (WFSN) as a Constituent Network of The Association of Former Students.

While a young organization, we are growing rapidly, fueled by excitement among women all across the United States and around the globe.  What Texas A&M University already does wonderfully through outreach to former students, we think will be enhanced enormously as women have a chance to be more meaningfully and visibly involved.

Mission of the WFS Network
The formal mission of the WFS Network is to enhance the excellence of Texas A&M University by promoting the active engagement of women in the educational, charitable, and cultural life of the institution.  We believe that mission will be realized through the increased engagement of women former students in academic, research and service activities; through their expanded role as mentors of current and future generations of women students; and through their increased philanthropic ties to the university. The potential is limited only by our vision, energies and our collective love of TAMU.

The strength of the Women Former Student Network will be our members; women from all over the world who want to give back to TAMU and to each other.  We invite you to join us and help create the next great tradition of Texas A&M University.  Do this in honor of your past association with our great institution…do this to help realize the promise of the next generation of women students…do this to bring the potential of women Aggies to life.

Gig ‘Em Women Aggies!
